Gas suppression
Gaseous Fire Suppression is often used where water damage could cause severe risk, such as computer server or electrical rooms.
Gas Suppression works by replacing the oxygen needed by the fire with a gas. The gas is ultimately ducted away and generally the room has to be fully sealed for integrity.
There are several types of gas on the market – inert gases for occupied risks (subject to design) and Carbon Dioxide CO2 for unoccupied risks.
The system is triggered by a smoke detector which releases the gas. This is stored inside a Nitrogen cylinder to provide propulsion.
